Great Science Opportunity at RICE

So excited to share this opportunity with our Chargers!

The application process for the 2017 Rice Drone Camp for current 7th and 8th grade students is NOW OPEN!

During this year’s camp, students will explore the engineering and science of drone technologies while also examining the social and cultural implications of technological advances more generally. Due to the generous contributions of the program’s industry partners (BP, Microsoft, and Trumbull Unmanned) the program is 100% FREE to all attendees.

The core curriculum of the camp, designed to provide a rigorous, project-based learning experience aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), will include hands-on drone operation lessons and demonstrations from Rice University faculty and professional engineers. During “free fly time,” students will gain hands‐on practice piloting small drones, which they will take home at the end of the camp.
