How can I raise my ELA grade?

Please accept my apologies as I anticipated entering the IRR grades and ReDos before I left today. However, my child was home sick, and I needed to head home shortly after school was out. Transporting composition books is not really an option, so the grades will be entered no later than 5pm on Monday. I did bring the IRB projects home with me, and they should be entered in the grade book (hopefully) by Sunday evening. Below are some weekend options if you are interested in improving your grade.

ELA Test Whys due Monday (no exceptions)

Students received their Cycle One Tests back today. Students may complete Test Whys to earn back half of their points (ex: Student earned 40/60 on test. Student completes Test Whys – including reflection questions and parent signature – and earns up to 10pts back for a new grade of 50/60). Please use the following downloads to help you complete the Test Whys: test-whys    copy-of-test-one

No Red Ink (due Sunday for a LATE or ReDo grade – no exceptions)

I have re-opened the quiz for students who need to ReDo for a better grade or for students who did not join our class until after the the initial due date. If you still have not joined the class, please look back at the post from three weeks ago to get the class codes.

Extra Credit – Vocabulary.com (due Sunday – no exceptions)

Students may earn points based on the amount of time spent answering questions. Students may log in to their account to see how many minutes they have used the site. Students may answer vocabulary questions from ANY list (preferably the challenge, which is the questions that appear upon logging in). Points will be added as a bonus to the total points NOT to the final average (ex: Student earns 310 total points out of 350 points for the grading cycle for an 88.5% average. Student completes 55 minutes of practice and earns 20 bonus points. Student now has 330 total points out of 350 points for a 94.2% average). If you still have not joined the class, please look back at the post from three weeks ago to get the class codes.
