This week we’re learning about fix-up strategies for when reading breaks down. On Monday/Tuesday, readers will explore potential confusion traps in a text and learn how retelling can make you stronger. In store for Wednesday/Thursday, we will be setting goals for ourselves, and making plans to push through and reach them. Friday will focus on independent reading reflections.
In writing, we’re using a process to develop and decide ideas for slice of life writing. Students will learn how to make a flash draft of their own slice of life writing on Monday/Tuesday, and on Wednesday/Thursday they’ll learn strategies for revising and improving the quality of their ideas. Friday we’ll work on more revising during writing workshop. Slice of Life flash drafts are due Monday/Tuesday at the end of class.
